Obama Nation

Senator Obama (D-IL) wins the Wisconsin primary by a wide margin.

Not sure what was more appalling today:

  • Would-be first lady, Michele Obama, declaring that she has never been proud of America in her adult life…
  • Would-be President of the United States of America blowing off the long standing tradition of political grace and good faith, preempting Hilary Clinton’s concession speech with his…
  • Obama’s self importance, which allowed him to speak long beyond the traditional 12-20 minute victory speech, moving closer to State of the Union or Innauguration lengths, speaking for over 45 minutes…(I have to say that in watching him speak to the 20,000, or so, in Houston tonight, I find it equal parts fascinating, impressive and creepy to watch this master wordsmith spin his audience into a literal frenzy…)

Sen. Obama’s 45 minute marathon speech was less victory stump speech and more far Left coming out party. The devil is in the details…and as Obama finally revealed a few details, he revealed himself to be much less an ‘agent of change’ and more of the same: far left of center liberal.

Disingenuous and intellectually dishonest lowlights from Obama’s speech:

  • John McCain really wants the Iraq War to continue for 100 years…
  • America doesn’t do anything for poor people, particularly in Africa…

Castro: Out

Local Cuban newspaper reporting that Cuban dictator Fidel Castro is stepping down as president. (Reuters story)

No word on his successor, but we all assume it will be Fidel’s brother Raul.

Still, this is great news for the people of Cuba.

 This is their time.

Hopefully, the great people of Cuba will take this opportunity to chart a course of freedom for this great island.
